Please Read

I don't usually do this sort of thing, but I find it incredibly important to pass this information along. I intend to do as much as I can to help their cause.
I received an email from a friend regarding the Wild Horses in the United States and their plight. If you have a few minutes, please read the following messages about their struggle, and how you may be able to help them.
Please, if you can spread the word, I would be most appreciative.

Thank you,
- Xazz

Hey Friends,

Let’s make the world a little better place today, yeah you! You will make a difference. Today you can help me save and protect our wild horses. Please help me; I am begging on behalf of the horses.

On September 8th, 2009, terrified baby horses were chased by a helicopter 15 miles, over rocky ground, barely able to keep up. And then their feet were so bruised, they couldn’t even stand on them. To see video of this roundup, view the videos through the links below.

There are 30,000 wild horses captured by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and in holding pens. 8,000 are slated to be killed now. These horses did not need to be rounded up with expensive and terrifying helicopter roundups. Their numbers can be controlled simply by contraceptives and natural prey. The BLM removes them to make room for cattle. There are 200 cows for every one horse on our public lands. The BLM Management does not make any sense, it is incredibly expensive (3000 taxpayer dollars per horse rounded up) and incredibly inhumane. These are our horses (we the people) and our lands.

There is a bill in the Senate, ROAM Act #S1579 that has already been approved by Congress that would stop helicopter roundups and relocate the captured horses to suitable areas. The Senate will vote on this Act next Monday (9/28/09).

Please take a few moments to speak up for our horses and call all of the numbers below, leaving messages in support of ROAM Act #S1579. The operators at these phone numbers will direct your call to the appropriate volunteer who will take your message and forward it.

This action must be done by Monday, 9/27/09.

To leave messages for your Senators -- 202-224-3121.

To leave messages for President Obama, Michelle Obama, and Presidential Advisors, David Axelrod and Valerie Jarett call -- 202-456-1111. Your one message can be directed to all four government officials at once.

Here is a sample message: “ Please support the ROAM Act #S1579. Please also release the older horses from the Pryor Mountain Pens, as older horses are not appropriate for adoption”.

Please inundate them with calls. For everyone one call, our leaders assume 10 people believe the same. Call every day until we get a change!!!

Please forward this to all your contacts today. Remember, the vote is this Monday!!!

Thank you so much! And may the horse be with you!
